CLAS Consultancy for PSN

The PSN is a single network, based on industry standards. It provides a foundation for government ICT and is being implemented across the UK public sector. The network allows government departments and other public sector organisations to share services safely and work together more efficiently.

The PSN is also the replacement for the Police National Network (PNN3) family of networks (CJX, xCJX and SCN) and associated services, which enable most operational policing activities. The migration to PSN will impact every force, agency, department and application currently connected to the CJX, xCJX and SCN networks and as a result, all users must begin preparing for migration to PSN.

Aristi has been working with public sector (including emergency services) clients for a number of years providing support for compliance with GCSX, GSi and CJX CoCo requirements and we have helped our clients to become some of the first organisations to comply with the new PSN CoCo.

Our consultants have extensive experience in PSN requirements as well as compliance with the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework (SPF). We have developed a number of services to help public sector clients procure new PSN connectivity or to prepare for migration to the PSN in a cost effective and pragmatic way.

Our services are based on experience of working with public sector clients on projects where we have successfully implemented risk management frameworks and helped organisations to comply with SPF, Airwave and PSN CoCo requirements. We have developed a number of services to help clients to procure new PSN connections or migrate to the PSN as detailed below.

PSN Readiness Gap Analysis

The PSN Readiness Gap Analysis is designed to quickly establish the current security posture of the organisation and determine what is required to comply with the PSN/PSNP CoCo. The output is a detailed report together with recommendations and a suggested development plan for achieving compliance.

In order to determine the level of current security controls implemented, Aristi CLAS Consultants will conduct a gap analysis against the requirements of the PSN CoCo. This is in the form of an evidence based audit to identify existing security practices including data identification and handling procedures.

The analysis will cover physical, technical and procedural controls as well as a review of existing security policy documentation.

The results of the gap analysis will be documented in table which can be used by the client as a Corrective Action Plan. The table will be presented in a formal report together with recommendations.
